It is all about being aware of the impact our words can have on those around us. They say that what we speak is a reflection of what is in our hearts so maybe we can start by looking within ourselves with our mind?s eye in solitude, in the presence of our Higher Power to see what kind of person is there. Is that who I want to be? Do I love myself enough to not be affected by others negativity? Do I speak to others as I would like them to speak to me? Do I think before I speak? Do I choose affirming words? I heard a quote this week saying ?all achievements of the human race started with an idea in someone?s head that was thinking possibilities, not obstacles.? (?Possibility? is a very affirming word). Or how about this one by J.F.

Too often we think we have successfully compromised or negotiated an issue with a loved one and, in fact, we have actually given up, given in or settled.

Giving Up and Giving In

Giving up and giving in are completely unacceptable ways of resolving issues, handling disagreements or solving problems. Giving up and giving in are signs that you feel powerless and undeserving. Anger and resentment are sure to follow. Nothing good ever comes from giving up or giving in!

Settling

Settling is a behavior of the injured, younger part of yourself. It is that part of you which lacks belief and trust that you are loveable and that you deserve what you need and want.

Settling is often the result of you not recognizing that your thoughts, attitudes, beliefs, needs and wants are legitimate. When you do not honor your right to have your needs and regard them as legitimate, be aware, you will more than likely settle.

Compromising & Negotiating

Compromising and negotiating are behaviors of your integrated adult.

These thyroid hormones come in various forms: synthetic, herbal/natural, liquid, or tablet/pill. While synthetic forms of thyroid hormones like levothyroxine, liothyronine, and liotrix are by far the most popular, dessicated thyroid hormones come close today.

These medications of varied forms promise one ultimate therapeutic benefit: to make the hypothyroid patient feel better continuously. However, these hormones may vary in terms of degree of outcome and resulting changes in the patient?s body. For instance, three people might have started their treatments at the same time and might all be using one kind of medication, but they may have different speeds of recuperation and show dissimilar signs of recovery. Therefore, it is best for hypothyroid patients to have follow-up visits with their physicians to monitor how their bodies react to the respective dosages of thyroid medication given to them.

The Parmigiani Fleurier brand announced the Middle East launch of the Kalparisma collection housing the firm’s automatic movement (Calibre pF 331) in a compact size.

The Kalparisma collection, made only from 18 carat rose gold, with or without diamonds, offers elegance and sobriety. The smaller dial numerals have been redesigned to give the whole a new balance; black or white, sunray guilloche worked and then lacquered, its face also elegantly matches the leather strap: Hermes Swift calfskin for white or Hermes lizard skin for black. There is also a red Hermes lizard skin version for those opting for greater originality.

Its lugs, its tonneau shape and arched profile are the signature of Parmigiani, which the Kalparisma has adopted, while symbolising the two essential areas of the brand: watchmaking mechanics and refined aesthetics of the lines

2006 seems to be a good year for the Toyota Motor Corporation. This company is the one responsible for the Toyota brand of vehicles as well as the Lexus brand. Now, it has most recently earned 11 segment awards that the J.D. Power and Associates give annually. These awards are all part of J.D. Power And Associates? Initial Quality Study.

This study actually measures out problems in 100 vehicles during the first 90 days of ownership. And during this period of study, the Toyota and Lexus brands received 11 segment awards which is a record in itself. This is primarily because no other corporation or brand has had received such a number of segment awards in just one study such as this one.

Commissioner says privacy report wrong:

0 Comments | Charleston Daily Mail, Jul 12, 2010 | by JARED HUNT

The Commissioner of the West Virginia Division of Corrections says a report naming West Virginia as one of eight states that give prisoners access to citizens’ private information is wrong.

The March report compiled by the Social Security Administration lists West Virginia, along with Alabama, Arkansas, Kansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma, South Dakota and Tennessee, as a state that runs programs allowing prison inmates to have access to personal data, including Social Security numbers.

Articles written this month in issues of both USA Today and Parade magazines referenced the report. They said that prisoners working data processing jobs – such as data entry, digital imaging or records conversion duties that involve health records, wage statements and government forms – at correctional facilities would be privy to such information in the states named.

“That is absolutely not true and won’t occur,” Division of Corrections Commissioner Jim Rubenstein said. “The West Virginia DOC does not have that, hasn’t had that, and will never have that.”

Rubenstein said the broad questioning the Social Security Administration used in 2006 when originally collecting data for the report led to the misunderstanding.

The question was posed as, “Would there ever be a way an inmate within the Division of Corrections would have access to that kind of info or access to a Social Security number?”

The department had to answer “yes” to that question because there could be instances in which an inmate who obtains private employment through a work release program might be able to view such data, specifically if a private employer were to allow them, Rubenstein said.

“It would depend on if the inmate is out seeking employment and depend on the employer and what they have the inmate doing.”

He noted, however, that few work release inmates get jobs that involve data processing.

“The majority of our inmates work in the fast-food industry and restaurants where we are able to provide help and a steady work force,” Rubenstein said.

“When we responded in 2006 it was asked very broadly and answered very broadly; the articles framed it as if DOC would have inmates at computers,” he said. “If they would have narrowed it down saying, ‘Do you have anything in your facilities where inmates have access to computers and that kind of information,’ the bottom line answer would be no.”

Rubenstein said he contacted the Social Security Administration after the report was issued. The information was corrected, but the news articles quoted the initial data.

The corrections division is drafting a formal policy elaborating on the department’s stance to ban prisoners from having access to private data. Rubenstein said that policy should be finished and in place by August.

“I understand the concerns of citizens and folks,” Rubenstein said, “but I want folks to know that that really isn’t in place with the DOC

Sneek peek into CEPT University

0 Comments | DNA : Daily News & Analysis; Mumbai, Jun 21, 2010

The Centre for Environment Planning and Technology (CEPT) needs no formal introduction. CEPT is not only known for its beautiful campus surrounded with lush green foliage, but also for its illustrious alumni and for various programmes offered in the university.

A sneak peek into the history of CEPT reveals that the School of Architecture was established in 1962. Ten years later, the School of Planning was established and in 1982, the School of Building Science and Technology was set up, followed by the School of Interior Design in 1991. CEPT offers both undergraduate and post graduate programmes in the areas of natural and developed environment of human society and other related disciplines. The university is involved in the constant process of making innovative changes in the curriculum. Considering the growing changes and demands in the disciplines that are taught at CEPT, various experts from the industry regularly teach at the university, as visiting faculties.

CEPT has ten faculties of various disciplines. While the undergraduate programmes receive grants from the state government, the five post graduate programmes receive grants from AICTE, GATE. CEPT is one of such universities where students can pursue and obtain two degrees in two similar programmes of their choice by spending one more year. The programmes which are offered at CEPT include, Master of Planning, (Urban and Regional Planning, Environmental Planning, Infrastructure Planning, Rural Planning and Management.

The duration for the doctoral programme is three years, and is offered in all areas of developed natural environment. The unique feature of this programme is the requirement of one major area in which students will carry out a detailed research, culminating in thesis and two minor areas in which students will prepare several term papers.

As part of its International tie ups, CEPT has student exchange programmes, joint studios and research activities, with many international institutes and universities. As part of these programmes, faculty members and students are provided with an opportunity to spend one academic semester in institutes which include Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Academy of Fine Arts, Vienna, Austria, and Washington University Seattle, USA. These are just to name a few, there are many such colleges across the globe where students and faculty members go to as part of the tie ups.

If the infrastructural facilities are anything to go by, then CEPT is spread over 8000 square meters and has studios, lecture halls, theatre, libraries and computer centres. It has now acquired additional land from AES about 25 acres to keep a scope for its further development.

Their library has a collection of 37,000 books and 110 periodicals for all faculties and has an extensive slide and video film collection. Being a member of INFLIBNET, it has the advantage of having access to books in other

libraries as well.

Apart from computer laboratories, there are structural laboratory, environmental science laboratory, photography and documentation laboratory, remote sensing laboratory and digital image processing laboratory. There are also energy simulation laboratory and geographical information system laboratory. For the benefit of the students, CEPT organises workshops like sculpture, ceramics and graphics
